How Do I Meet People?
Our church is not a place for spectators. It is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at this church.
Sunday School
Often, small groups of people are better able to interact and learn about a topic than larger groups are. For that reason, our church has small Bible studies held after our morning worship. We have classes for all age groups and a variety of topics covered.
Children’s Ministry
Each Sunday morning, children get to participate in their own classes. Bible lessons are taught in such a way that every child gets to participate and learn. On Wednesday nights we have mission friends for preschoolers and Mission classes for elementary children.
Youth
The Youth meet several times during the week for not only instruction, but much needed encouragement. Monday nights we have a bible study in the Youth room. Wednesday nights we meet for a time of worship and fun and on Sunday mornings we meet for a Sunday school class divided up into middle and high school grades.
Young Adults
Life can get complicated once you cross that nebulous threshold into adulthood. There are complicated decisions. Bigger stakes. Serious relationships. And a whole lot more decisions. The young adult group of our church provides a welcoming atmosphere for college and early-career aged young people.
Married Couples
Even though marriage is one of the most important institutions, it is the one which is under the most attack–internally and externally. We have several Sunday school classes that allow the husband and wife to learn together. This atmosphere is great for taking relationships to a deeper level both spiritually and emotionally.
Women’s Group
Women’s groups give the ladies in our church family special times of interaction. Our women’s groups, located in several locations throughout our community, are times of Bible study, prayer (and, of course, food). These groups provide a refreshing discipleship opportunity for the women in the church.
Men’s Ministry
We are very honored to have a group of men in our church who are willing to take a stand for Christ. Whether it’s building a ramp for one of our home bound members or going on mission to help build homes, they are willing to do whatever it takes to make a difference for Jesus and they all understand it starts at home and leading by example!
Senior Adults
Once you’ve reached the golden years, the fun has just begun. Whether retired, just plain tired, or active as ever, the Senior Adults of First Baptist Iva provides refreshment, ministry, and times of valuable interaction. A mentoring ministry gives older believers a chance to meet with and help younger believers grow in Christ.
